Walton Chamber to host City of Social Circle municipal election candidate forum Sept. 23

Residents of the City of Social Circle will have the opportunity to hear from candidates running for mayor and city council seats at a candidate forum at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, 2019,  at the Church at the Grove Social Circle, 200 Village Circle, Social Circle,

The forum is hosted by the Walton County Chamber of Commerce. Questions will be posed and each of the candidates will be able to answer. If you have questions you would like to consider to be posed to the candidates, email them prior to the event to staff@waltonchamber.org.

The election will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 5, 2019. Only voters who reside in the city limits of Social Circle who are registered to vote by the Oct. 7, 2019 voter registration deadline are eligible to vote in the elections. Click or tap on this link for a registration form.

Below is a list of the candidates who qualified to run in the 2019 Social Circle Municipal Elections. District 2 City Councilman is the only candidate who is not facing a challenger for his seat this time around. Social Circle Mayor Pro Tem David Keener resigned his seat to challenge Mayor Hal W. Dally for his seat. Keener’s seat will remain vacant until a special election in March 2020
