Walton County Animal Control closes due to COVID-19

Monroe, GA – On Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, Animal Control Director Shawn Morris announced that the Animal Control Department is closing due to several employees testing positive for COVID-19. During this closure, the building will be cleaned and properly decontaminated prior to resuming business.

The office will be closed on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, and will not reopen for business until the Emergency Management Director signifies that the proper protocol has been met. Animal Control will be accepting emergency calls at 770-464-0310. 

Call response times are expected to be a little longer as Animal Control navigates their staff shortage. Updates will be made to inform the public of any changes regarding Animal Control operations. 

“Walton County continues to make the safety of the County’s citizens and employees its top priority during this time,” Walton County government announced in a press release.
