Walton County Bar Association Makes Harvey Relief Donation

 $1,000 to the American Red Cross

Athens, GA: Today, the Walton County Bar Association delivered a check to the American Red Cross in the amount of $1,000, which was earmarked for Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief. Recently elected President Eric C. Crawford and Treasurer Jared Campbell had the opportunity to present American Red Cross Athens Executive Director Laura E. Allen with the check at the American Red Cross office in Athens, Georgia.

At the Walton County Bar Association’s annual meeting in Monroe on September 1, 2017, Loganville Attorney Mike Jones made a motion to donate $1,000 in WCBA funds to the Red Cross for Hurricane Harvey disaster relief. Social Circle Attorney Becky Dally seconded the motion, which carried unanimously through a voice vote. The donation was funded by membership dues collected from members of the bar association.

About the Walton County Bar Association: The Walton County Bar Association (WCBA) is a Georgia nonprofit membership corporation pursuant to Section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. WCBA members are licensed attorneys in Georgia who, generally speaking, are in private practice in Walton County or are employed as judges and attorneys for the Alcovy Judicial Circuit (consisting of Walton and Newton Counties). The current membership of the WCBA is approximately 70 attorneys.
