Walton County, Covington players among weekend Georgia Lottery winners

Walton County and Covington players were among Georgians who scored $10,000 prizes in Georgia Lottery drawings over the weekend.

• Loganville: A ticket purchased at Publix, 2715 Loganville Highway SW, won the $10,000 top prize in Georgia FIVE in the Aug. 15 midday drawing.
• Covington: A ticket purchased at Salem Food & Gas, 3538 Salem Road, also won $10,000 in Georgia FIVE, in the Aug. 16 midday drawing.

The Georgia Lottery also reported several other significant weekend winners statewide, including a $100,000 Mega Millions prize, a $50,000 Powerball prize and a $584,912 Quick Win progressive jackpot.

Georgia Lottery proceeds support education programs, including the HOPE Scholarship and Georgia Pre-K programs.
