On Jan. 10, 2020 there was an official ribbon cutting for the new Walton County indoor batting cages at West Walton Park in Loganville. According to officials, this facility is a great addition to West Walton Park and will be used “to create more well-rounded hitters and to encourage batting practice year-round.”

“The cages will be utilized by appointment or the recreation staff will schedule teams in the cages. There are no set hours established,” Walton County Parks and Recreation Director Jody Johnson said. “The facility will be used for inclement weather for recreation evaluations and for practices for teams that are affiliated with our department. Teams that are scheduled will be given a code to the door to gain access.”
Johnson said the budget for the batting cages was about $160,000.
“The West Walton booster club donated around $70,000. The remainder of the funds were obtained from impact fee money,” Johnson said.
The community was invited to join in the celebration at the Ribbon Cutting and residents got a look at the new facility. The West Walton indoor batting cage facility is located at 925 Twin Lakes Road in Loganville, Georgia.
