Walton County law enforcement and emergency response teams wrap up active shooter training

Walton County Sheriff’s Office, Walton County Fire Rescue, Walton County EMS, Loganville Fire Department, and Newton County Fire Department participated in the last day of Walton County’s three-day scheduled Active Shooter Training Drill on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the Walton County Board of Education Annex, located at 1820 GA Highway 11 in Monroe.

“This inter-agency drill is part of ongoing training of law enforcement and emergency response personnel and is designed to give multiple agencies practice in coordinating the most effective response possible to an active shooter emergency under realistic conditions,” Diane Baggett, public information officer for Walton County government said in a press release.

Late last year Walton County Fire Rescue and Monroe Police and Fire Departments had conducted similar exercises at an old school building in Monroe.
