Walton County’s Empty Stocking fund seeks drivers to deliver food boxes Saturday

There is no better way to learn an appreciation for the true spirit of the season than in helping deliver food boxes to needy families through the Empty Stock Funds. Walton County is again giving anyone who would like to help the opportunity to do so this Saturday,

“The Empty Stocking Fund of Walton County food distribution day is Saturday, Dec. 14 at 8 a.m. Just show up at the National Guard Armory on Washington Street in Monroe. Tell us how many boxes you would like to deliver and we will load your vehicle and give you the address,” said Kristy Peters, an organizer with the Empty Stocking Fund. “It’s that easy, folks. ‘Tis the season for giving back to your community.”

Usually, especially if the weather is good, there is a great response to this request. If you want to be part of the community’s Christmas giving spirit, be there at 8 a.m. Saturday to help ease some of the worries during the Christmas season of those who are less fortunate.
