The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Community Alerts for the period Friday, April 14 to Sunday, April 16, 2017. Please note a charge or an arrest does not constitute a conviction.
Friday, April 14, 2017
ZONE 1
Vehicle Accident- Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident in the area of Leone Avenue and Walnut Avenue. No injuries reported. Walton County Sheirff’s Office handled the scene of the accident.
Arrest- Shon Steward, James Johnson and Devin Vanenkenvoort were arrested in the area of Highway 138 following a traffic stop. Devin Vanenkenvoort was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce. James Johnson was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine. Shon Steward was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, No License Plate/Tag and Driving While License Suspended.
Vehicle Accident- Deputies responded to a three vehicle accident in the area of Highway 138. No injuries reported. Georgia State Patrol handled the scene of the accident.
Arrest- Alexander Moore was arrested in the area of Amber Hills Way for Reckless Driving, Failure to Stop Upon Striking and Fixture, Criminal Trespass and Disorderly Conduct following a hit and run accident.
ZONE 2
Arrest- Wendell Combs was arrested at a residence on Highway 278 for an outstanding warrant out of Newton County.
Arrest- Jason Mitchell was arrested in the area of Highway 78 and Mount Vernon Road for an outstanding warrant out of Barrow County following a traffic stop.
ZONE 3
Arrest- Reginald Green was arrested in the area of Highway 11 and Sussies Wing for and outstanding warrant out of Hall County following a traffic stop.
Arrest- Willie Wilson was arrested in the area of Highway 78 and the Oconee County Line for Speeding and Driving Under the Influence following a traffic stop.
ZONE 4
Arrest- Covian Camp was arrested in the area of Lakeview Drive and Pinelake Court for an outstanding warrant out of New Jersey, Theft by Receiving, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, Possession of Schedule II Drugs, Possession of Drug Related Objects, Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce and Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute following a traffic stop.
Citation- One motorist was cited in the area of Highway 11 and Shoal Creek Road for Driving While License Suspended following a traffic stop.
ZONE 5
Vehicle Accident- Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident in the area of Highway 11. No injuries reported. Georgia State Patrol handled the scene of the accident.
Extra Patrol- Extra patrol was requested in the area of Highlands Boulevard in The Highlands Subdivision in reference to an ongoing issue with vehicles speeding and not stopping at stop signs in the area.
ZONE 6
Identity Theft- Deputies responded to a residence on Annslee Lane in Annslee Lakes Subdivision in reference to an unknown individual opening several accounts in complainants name.
Vehicle Accident- Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident in the area of Highway 20. No injuries reported. Walton County Sheriff’s Office handled the scene of the accident.
ZONE 7
Extra Patrol- Extra patrol was requested in the area of Old Highway 138 in reference to an ongoing issue with several vehicles speeding in the evening hours.
Arrest- David Autry was arrested at a residence on Stewart Road for an outstanding Parole Violation warrant out of Atlanta following a dispute call.
Arrest- Kemyle Nelson was arrested in the area of Walnut Avenue and Leone Avenue for Driving Under the Influence and a Failure to Stop at a Accident With Damages.
Damage to Property- Deputies took a report at a business on Highway 81 in reference to an unknown individual keying motorist vehicle and cutting their brake lines sometime in the late evening hours.

ZONE 4
Arrest- John Thomas was arrested in the area of Highway 11 and Tanglewood Drive for an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County and Obstruction of an Officer following a traffic stop and short foot chase.
ZONE 5
Entering Auto- Deputies took a report at a Fire Department on Heritage Parkway in reference to an unknown individual breaking out complainant’s vehicle window. Nothing appeared to be missing.
Arrest- Thomas Connely and Ashley Harrison were arrested in the area of Highway 11 and Bold Springs Road following a short vehicle pursuit with Walton County Sheriff’s Office Deputies. Thomas Connely was arrested for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Improper U-Turn, Fleeing to Elude and Driving Without a License. Ashley Harrison was arrested for an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County.
Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Highway 11 and Bold Springs Road. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No arrest in reference to this Safety Check.
Citations in reference to Safety Check:
- One motorist was cited for Driving While Unlicensed and Child Safety Restraint Violation (x3).
ZONE 6
Arrest- Preston Latimer was arrested in the area of Highway 81 and Gun Creek Church Road for an outstanding warrant out of Hall County following a traffic stop.
Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on North Sharon Church Road and Yorkshire Court. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No citations in reference to this Safety Check.
Arrest in reference to Safety Check:
- Hector Ebrego was arrested for Driving While Licenses Suspended.
ZONE 7
Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Old Highway 138 and Cannon Farm Road. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No arrest in reference to this Safety Check.
Citations in reference to Safety Check:
- One motorist was cited for Expired License and Unregistered Vehicle.
Vehicle Accident- Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident in the area of Nunnally Farm Road. No life threatening injuries. Georgia State Patrol handled the scene of the accident.
Suspicious Vehicle- Deputies responded to The Grove Wine & Spirits in the area of Highway 138 in reference to an unknown vehicle on location after hours. Deputies made contact with four individuals in the vehicle and recovered a small amount of marijuana and drug related objects.

ZONE 2
Theft- Deputies took a report at a residence on Walnut Drive in reference to an unknown individual taking four firearms from the residence. Firearm placed on the national database as stolen.

Arrest- Pamela Vrooman was arrested at a residence on Spring Hill Court for Disorderly Conduct following a dispute.
ZONE 5
Vehicle Accident- Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident in the area of Highway 81 and Bentley Road. No injuries reported. Walton County Sheriff’s Office handled the scene of the accident.
ZONE 6
Vehicle Fire- Deputies assisted Walton County Fire Department with an abandoned vehicle fully engulfed in flames on the side of the road in the area of Youth Monroe Road. Deputies made and attempted contact with vehicle owner, but were unsuccessful.
Citation- One motorist was cited in the area of North Sharon Church Road and Johnson Road for Reckless Driving following getting their vehicle stuck in a mud pit.
