The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for the period Friday, Jan. 8 to Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Friday, Jan. 8, 2021
Arrest- A 23-year-old and a 31-year-old Covington resident were arrested in the area of Highway and Nunnally Drive following a traffic stop. The 23-year-old was arrested for a Parole Violation, Theft by Receiving, Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce, Possession of Oxycodone, and Security Coming of the Bond. The 31-year–old was arrested for Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of Oxycodone.

Suspicious Person- Deputies responded to the area of Nunnally Farm Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual in a silver in color Chevrolet passenger vehicle taking pictures of the complainant’s residence sometime around 5:30pm. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact with anyone.
Arrest- A 27-year-old Covington resident was arrested in the area of Highway 11 and Whitney Road for Motor Vehicle Hijacking, Driving Under the Influence, Driving While License Suspended, Aggravated Assault, Failure to Maintain Lane, Criminal Attempt to Entering Auto, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Seat Belt Violation following a single vehicle accident in a stolen vehicle that was involved in a car hijacking in the City of Monroe. Georgia State Patrol worked the scene of the accident.
Arrest- A 41-year-old Monroe man was arrested at a residence on Mountain Creek Church Road for Criminal Trespass following a dispute.
Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021
Arrest- A 34-year-old Conley man was arrested in the area of Highway 138 near Pirklefield Subdivision for an outstanding warrant out of Clayton County
Recovered Vehicle- Deputies recovered a stolen vehicle at a residence on Ponderosa Trail. Vehicle was reported stolen out of Barrow County.
Damage to Property- Deputies took a report at a residence on Highway 11 in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual damaged the complainant’s vehicle sometime between 8 p.m. Jan. 9 and 8 a.m. Jan. 10.
Arrest- A 22-year-old Covington man was arrested in the area of Highway 81 for an outstanding Aggravating Stalking warrant out of Walton County following a traffic stop
