The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for the period Friday to Monday April 27 – 30, 2018. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
April 27, 2018
Agency Assist- Deputies responded to the area of West Spring Street to assist Monroe Police Department with a suspect that fled on foot. Brandis Slaton was arrested after a brief foot pursuit and turned over to Monroe Police Department.
Arrest- Erica Garrett was arrested in the area of South Hammond Drive for outstanding warrants out of Barrow County and an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County following Walton County Deputies being contacted by Barrow County Sheriff’s Office requesting contact be made with her.
Suspicious Vehicle- Deputies responded to the area of Brush Creek Drive in reference to an unknown male in a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck going through trash cans in the area. Deputies made contact with the individual and advised them to stay away from other individual trashcans.
Arrest- Zachary Coker was arrested at a residence on East Fambrough Street for Theft by Taking following being found in possession of a utility trailer that was reported stolen. Utility trailer was returned to the owner.
Theft- Deputies took a report at B&D Fabrications in the area of Nathan Boulevard in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual took several items from the business.
Recovered Vehicle- Deputies located a vehicle stolen out of Monroe Police Department at Between Grocery in the area of Highway 78 following deputies doing an area check of the business after hours. Vehicle turned over to the registered owner.
Entering Auto- Deputies responded to Blue Springs Soccer Fields in the area of Center Hill Church Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual braking their vehicle window and taking several items from the vehicle sometime between 5:57pm and 6:55pm.

Theft- Deputies took a report at a residence on Evergreen Drive in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual taking their IPhone X from their residence. Phone was placed on the national database as stolen.
Suspicious Person- Deputies responded to the area of Peyton Drive in reference to complainant reporting an unknown male came to their residence on two separate occasions on this date and rang the complainant’s door bell and left in a black pickup truck around 2:40pm. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact with anyone.
Damage to Property- Deputies took a report at a residence on Cedar Ridge Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual broke a window to the residence sometime between 9:00pm on Friday, April 27 and 11:20am on Saturday, April 28. Complainant reported nothing appeared to be missing and it didn’t look like anyone had made entry into the residence.
Extra Patrol- Extra patrol was requested in the area of Wedgewood Drive in reference to an ongoing issue with vehicles running stop signs and speeding in the area throughout the day and night time hours.
Arrest- Ann Parker was arrested at a residence on South Smith Road for Battery and Cruelty to Children following a dispute.

Arrest- David Adams was arrested in the area of Highway 11 near Waffle House for an outstanding warrant out of Gwinnett County following a traffic stop.
Arrest- Zinda Bass was arrested by Georgia State Patrol at a residence on Youth Jersey Road for Following Too Close, Open Container, Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Prescription Drugs Not in Original Container, Driving Under the Influence, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident after she struck another vehicle and fled the scene of the accident. No life threatening injuries reported.
Arrest- Tracy Johnson was arrested at Waffle House in the area of Walnut Avenue for Obstruction of an Officer and Violation of a Protection Order after being found on location in violation of the conditions of his protective order.
Arrest- Elijah Hamrick was arrested at a residence on Dutch Mill Drive for Battery following a dispute.
