WCSO Alerts: Fleeing motorist arrested, another cited for ‘burn outs’ and gun flashed in road rage incident

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.


Arrest- Michael Nix was arrested in the area of Mount Paron Church Road and Lipscomb Road for an outstanding warrant out of Morgan County following a traffic stop.

Theft- Deputies took a report at a residence on Highway 186 in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual taking their library card sometime within the last two years and charging for several Yes books.


Arrest- Joel Saenz-Olvera was arrested in the area of Perry Smith Road following a short vehicle pursuit that ended in Barrow County where Joel attempted to flee on foot, but was located by Walton County Sheriff’s Office K9 Units. Joel Saenz-Olvera was arrested for Failure to Maintain Lane, Driving Under the Influence, Open Container, Obstruction of an Officer, Fleeing to Elude, and Driving While License Suspended.


Arrest- Daniel Cruz was arrested in the area of Highway 11 near Adam’s Clinic for Driving Without a License following a traffic stop.

Citation- One motorist was cited in the area of Charleston Avenue in Charleston Heights Subdivision for Reckless Driving after doing “burn outs” in the cul-de-sac.


Road Rage- Deputies took a report in the area of Centerhill Church Road in reference to complainant reporting around 10:00am an unknown male motorist in a late 2000 model gold Honda Accord was tailgating complainant. Complainant pulled over for motorist to pass and it was reported the motorist flashed a firearm at the complainant. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact. Lookout for the vehicle/motorist was given to Walton and surrounding counties.

Trespassing- Deputies responded to the area of Annslee Lane in Annslee Lakes Subdivision in reference to several complainants of two unknown male juveniles at the Rock Quarry around 4:00pm. Deputies made contact with the juveniles and they were advised not to go to Quarry without a resident of the subdivision or they would be charged for trespassing.


Arrest- Fernando Mendoza was arrested in the area of Highway 78 near the Waffle House for Driving While License Suspended, No Proof of Insurance, and Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce following a traffic stop.
