WCSO Alerts: Foot chase leads to arrests and absconded sex offender located

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Community Alert for Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Please note and arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

ZONE 1

Nothing Reported.

ZONE 2

Arrest- James Archer was arrested at a business in the area of Vine Street for an outstanding warrant out of Barrow County for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

Entering Auto- Deputies took a report at a residence on Darel Drive in reference to an unknown individual shattering motorist windows to their vehicle and taking several items unlawfully. Extra patrol requested in reference to the incident. 

ZONE 3

Arrest- Phillip Smith was arrested at a residence in the area of Oakland Drive in Oakland Park subdivision for and outstanding Child Support warrant out of Walton County.

ZONE 4

Arrest- Three individuals arrested in the area of Ike Stone Road and Michael Road following a traffic stop and a short vehicle chase that originated at Highway 11 and Mountain Creek Church Road.

  • Jerry Lewis was arrested for Driving on Suspended License, Reckless Driving, Fleeing to Elude and Obstruction of an Officer.
  • Deshawn Brown and Roshard Williams were arrested for Obstruction of an Officer.

Damage to Property- Deputies took a report at a residence on Clarence Odum Road in reference to homeowner’s mailbox being damaged.

ZONE 6

Arrest- Timothy Crowe was arrested in the area of Highway 20 and Sunny Hill Drive for an outstanding Failure to Appear warrant out of DeKalb County following a traffic stop.

Arrest- Parker Smith was arrested in the area of Highway 81 for Driving Under the Influence and Driving in Violation of DUI Permit following a traffic stop.

Arrest- Sirmel Roots was arrested in the area of Rabbit Farm Road and Centerhill Church Road for Driving Under the Influence and Improper U-Turn following a traffic stop.

ZONE 7

Vehicle Accident- Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident in the area of Stewart Road and Tall Pines Drive. No life threatening injuries. Walton County Sheriff’s Office handled the scene of the accident.

Scam- Deputies took a report at a residence on Guthrie Crossing Drive in reference to an unknown caller claiming to be with IRS requesting funds.
