WCSO Alerts: If you’re traveling with drugs, you may want to check your tag light is working

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for the period Wednesday – Thursday Feb. 3 – 4, 2021. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021

ZONE 1

Arrest– A 32-year-old Athens man was arrested for Possession of Ecstasy, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Inoperable Tag Light following a traffic stop.

ZONE 3

Scam– Deputies took a report at a residence in reference to complainant receiving spam calls from an unknown individual pretending to be law enforcement and asking for money.

ZONE 7

Burglary– Deputies took a report at a vacant residence on Kent Rock Road in reference to complainant reporting stolen copper pipes between Sunday, Jan. 3 and 2:30 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 2.
 
ACTIVITY DATE: Thursday, February 4, 2021

ZONE 1

Arrest– A 29-year-old Monroe man was arrested in the area of Highway 138 and H.D. Atha Road for Possession of Schedule 1 Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Inoperable Tag Light following a traffic stop.
