WCSO Alerts: Man arrested after wrecking and running, more catalytic convertor thefts and motorcycle stolen

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for the period Wednesday, March 3 – Sunday, March 7, 2021. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Wednesday, March 3, 2021

ZONE 2

Theft Report– Deputies took a report at Unity Store on Highway 278 in reference to complainant reporting two unknown individuals stealing two boxes of cigarettes from their trailer around 6:30 pm. Deputies thoroughly searched the area, but no contact was made.

Fraud– Deputies took a report at a residence on Alcovy Lakes Drive in reference to complainant reporting receiving several fraudulent phone calls from individuals claiming to be Medicaid.

ZONE 6

Fraud– Deputies took a report at a residence on Tom Brewer Road in reference to complainant reporting multiple fraudulent charges on their debit card.

Arrest– A 48-year-old Loganville man was arrested at Jerry’s Corner Store on Highway 20 on a warrant out of Snellville PD following a traffic stop.

Thursday, March 4, 2021

ZONE 6

Citation– A resident was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct and a warning for Criminal Trespass in the area of Chandler Haulk Road following a dispute.

Friday, March 5, 2021

ZONE 3

Arrest– A 24-year-old Athens man was arrested in the area of Highway 78 and Mt. Vernon for Failure to Maintain Lane, Driving While License Suspended, Driving Under the Influence, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident following a hit and run accident.

ZONE 5

Stolen Vehicle­- Deputies took a report at a residence on Oakmont Drive in reference to complainant reporting their 2012 Yamaha Motorcycle was stolen from the property sometime between Friday, Feb. 26 and Friday, March 5.

ZONE 7

Burglary– Deputies took a report at a residence on Travitine Trail in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual forcing entry into the residence and stealing a lawnmower from inside the complainant’s garage between the hours of 8:30 pm on Thursday, March 4 and 2:30 pm on Friday, March 5.

Saturday, March 6, 2021

ZONE 2

Arrest– A 37-year-old Conyers woman was arrested in Rockdale County on outstanding warrants out of Walton County and was transported without issue.

ZONE 5

Theft– Deputies took a report at a business on Nathan Boulevard in reference to stolen catalytic converters from the property. Deputies thoroughly searched the area and discovered more catalytic converters that had been stolen.

Theft– Deputies took a report at a residence on Highway 81 in reference to complainant reporting money stolen from the residence sometime between Monday, March 1 and Saturday, March 6.

Fraud– Deputies took a report at a residence on Highway 11 in reference to an unknown individual scamming the complainant online to purchase gift cards after telling the complainant that he had refunded their account in excess and having them take pictures of the gift card information and send it to him.

Prowler– Deputies took a report at a residence on Piney Grove Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual looking inside the residence around 1:30am on Sunday, March 7. Deputies thoroughly searched the area but no contact was made.

ZONE 6

Damage to Property– Deputies responded to a residence on Arblay Place in reference to complainant reporting unknown individuals starting a fire in the front yard around 5:00 pm.

ZONE 7

Identity Theft– Deputies took a report at a residence on Centerhill Church Road in reference to complainant reporting having received mail from the Department of Labor requesting identity verification for unemployment paperwork of the complainant’s deceased relative.

Sunday, March 7, 2021

ZONE 5

Theft– Deputies took a report at a residence on Highway 11 in reference to a stolen trailer from the property sometime between 2:00pm on Feb. 27 and 12:00pm on March 7.

ZONE 7

Arrest– A 67-year-old Loganville man was arrested in the area of Knollwood Road and Stewart Road for Habitual Violator, Driving Under the Influence, Open Container, No Insurance, and No Registration following a traffic stop
