The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for the period Wednesday, Aug. 28 to Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
WCSO is advising citizens to be aware that there has been an increase in the number of phone scams from unknown individuals advising they are with Social Security. They urge people to be extremely careful when giving out personal information by phone!

Arrest- A 38-year0old Monroe man was arrested in the area of Highway 83 and Snows Mill Road for warrant and Possession of Firearm following a traffic stop.
Damage to Property- Deputy took a report at a residence on Pleasant Valley Road in reference to complainant advising barn on location damaged and an intact bullet recovered on location.
Diabled Vehicle- Deputy took a report at a location on Highway 78 in reference to a blue Chevrolet pickup truck being left on location for over 7 days pickup was towed by Taylors Wrecker Service.
Stolen Gun- Deputy took a report at a location on Etchison Spur in reference to complainant locating several guns in wood line. Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is investigation incident.
Extra Patrol- Deputy took a report at a location on Troy Smith Road in reference to complainant advising an unknown individual was entering and exiting location around evening hours.
Arrest- A 37-year-old man from Stafford, Va. was arrested in the area of Highway 81 and Youth Jersey Road for a warrant out of Athens, Ga. following a traffic stop.
Arrest- A 26-year-old Loganville woman was arrested at a residence on Blossom Lane for warrants following a ride through of the area.

Theft Report- Deputy took a report at a residence on Pond Lane in reference to complainant advising several items taken from a location over a few month(s) time by an unknown individual.
Damage to Property- Deputy took a report at a residence on Knox Chapel Road in reference to complainant advising an unknown individual in an unknown vehicle hit complainants trash cans near the roadway.
Damage to Property- Deputy took a report in the area of Snows Mill Road and Jacks Creek Road in reference to complainant advising vehicle was hit by an unknown object by an unknown individual driving a dump truck.
