WCSO Alerts: Safety check nets several drugs and weapons arrests

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Community Alerts for Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

ZONE 1

Vehicle Accident- Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident in the area of Highway 138 and Cannon Farm Road. No injuries reported. Georgia State Patrol handled the scene of the accident.

ZONE 4

Nothing Reported.

ZONE 5

Arrest- Joseph Haack was arrested at a residence in the area of Hudson Road for Obstruction of an Officer and an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County.

ZONE 6

Scam- Deputies responded to a residence in the area of Highway 81 to take a report of an unknown caller contacting complainant claiming to be with the IRS advising the complainant that if they did not send a payment they were going to be arrested. Deputies advised the complainant it was a fraudulent call.

ZONE 7

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Highway 138 and Forrester Cemetery Road. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No citations in reference to this Safety Check.
Arrest in reference to Safety Check:

  • Montavios Harris was arrested for Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Related Objects and an outstanding Failure to Appear warrant out of Monroe Police Department.
  • Dante Todd was arrested for Criminal Damage to Property, Criminal Interference with Government Property, Criminal Damage to Property in the 2nd Degree, Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Schedule II Drugs, an Outstanding Parole Violation, Fleeing to Elude, Driving While License Suspended and Reckless Driving following a chase.
  • Megan McCollum was arrested for Possession of Weapon by a Convicted Felon and Obstruction of an Officer
