The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Community Alerts for Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Vehicle Accident- Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident in the area of Highway 138 and Cannon Farm Road. No injuries reported. Georgia State Patrol handled the scene of the accident.
Arrest- Joseph Haack was arrested at a residence in the area of Hudson Road for Obstruction of an Officer and an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County.
Scam- Deputies responded to a residence in the area of Highway 81 to take a report of an unknown caller contacting complainant claiming to be with the IRS advising the complainant that if they did not send a payment they were going to be arrested. Deputies advised the complainant it was a fraudulent call.
Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Highway 138 and Forrester Cemetery Road. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No citations in reference to this Safety Check.
Arrest in reference to Safety Check:
- Montavios Harris was arrested for Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Related Objects and an outstanding Failure to Appear warrant out of Monroe Police Department.
- Dante Todd was arrested for Criminal Damage to Property, Criminal Interference with Government Property, Criminal Damage to Property in the 2nd Degree, Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Schedule II Drugs, an Outstanding Parole Violation, Fleeing to Elude, Driving While License Suspended and Reckless Driving following a chase.
- Megan McCollum was arrested for Possession of Weapon by a Convicted Felon and Obstruction of an Officer
