The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for the period Friday, Jan. 22 to Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Friday, Jan. 22, 2021
Firearms Discharged– Deputies responded to a business in the area of Old Zion Cemetery Road in reference to reports of gunshots from a blue in color Jeep passenger vehicle between the hours of 12:30 pm and 2 pm. Deputies thoroughly searched the area, but no contact was made.
Trespass/Suspicious Activity– Deputies took a report at a residence on Center Hill Church Road in reference to complainant reporting suspicious activity at the residence between the hours of 11 pm and 3 am.
Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021
Firearms– Deputies responded to a complaint in the area of Tiffany Lane and Dogwood Lane in reference to reports of gunshots around 7:30 pm. Deputies thoroughly searched the area, but no contact was made.
Firearms– Deputies responded to a complaint in the area of Sardis Church Road and Highway 78 in reference to reports of gunshots around 10:30 pm. Deputies thoroughly searched the area, but no contact was made.
Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021
Arrest– A 48-year-old McDonough man was arrested at the Walton truck stop in the area of Highway 78 for Possession of Heroin following a suspicious vehicle report.
Arrest– A 33-year-old Winder man was arrested in the area of Mount Vernon Road and Ike Stone Road on an outstanding warrant in Barrow County following a traffic stop.
Damage to Property– Deputies took a report at a residence on Nancy Way in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual damaging their neighbor’s mailbox overnight. Extra patrol was added in the area following the incident.
Arrest– A 44-year-old Greensboro man was arrested in the area of Highway 138 and Vinies Drive for Driving Under the Influence and Failure to Maintain Lane following a traffic stop
