WCSO Alerts: Slew of mailboxes entered and mail scattered down the road

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Community Awareness Crime Alerts for the period Wednesday, May 1, 2019, to Sunday, May 5, 2019. Please note an arrest or charge does not necessarily constitute a conviction.

Wednesday, May 1, 2019

Zone 1

Arrest- Mason Guthrie was arrested in the area of Main Street for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Related Objects following a traffic stop.

Zone 7

Arrest- Dianne Burdett was arrested in the area of Greystone Drive for Driving Under the Influence and Open Container following a Welfare Check.

Zone 1

Arrest- Jamarius Artis was arrested in the area of Walnut Avenue and Leone Avenue for Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce and Possession of THC Oil following a traffic stop.

Hit and Run Accident- Deputies responded to a hit and run accident in the area of Highway 138 around 4:30 pm where one motorist was struck by another motorist who got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. The suspect is known to have warrants and more taken by Georgia State Patrol. GSP handled the scene of the accident.

Zone 3

Arrest- Louis Studdard was arrested at a residence on Wild Turkey Trail for an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County.

Scam- Deputies took a report at a residence on Chandler Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual contacted the complainant via telephone claiming to be with Pickens County Sheriff’s Office and stated the complainant had a warrant and if the complainant paid the warrant off they wouldn’t be arrested. The complainant did not have a warrant and if you receive a call of this nature make a report.

Zone 4

Scam- Deputies took a report at a residence on James Huff Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual contacted the complainant via telephone claiming to be with US Marshalls and stated the complainant had a warrant and if the complainant paid the warrant off they wouldn’t be arrested. The complainant did not have a warrant and if you receive a call of this nature make a report.

Zone 3

Theft- Deputies took a report at a residence on Sandy Ford Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual taking items from the complainant’s mailbox sometime between 11:00 pm May 2nd and 10:00 am May 3rd. Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division investigating the incident.

Damage to Property- Deputies took reports at 22 different residences mail boxes were entered in the area of Brown Hill Church Road in reference to an unknown individual taking the resident’s mail and throwing out in down the roadway. Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division investigating the incidents.

Zone 5

Extra Patrol- Extra patrol was requested in the area of Bullock Drive in reference to an ongoing issue with speeding vehicles throughout the daytime hours.

Zone 7

Arrest- Georgia Priest was arrested in the area of Wagon Trail for an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County following a suspicious person call.

Zone 7

Entering Auto Attempt- Deputies responded to a residence in the area of Mantle Drive in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual in a red in color truck with loud exhaust coming onto the complainant’s property and crouching between two vehicles on location around 12:00 am. Once the suspect was spotted by the complainant they fled the scene.

LOGANVILLE CITY LIMITS

Armed Robbery/Agency Assist Walton County Deputies assisted Loganville Police Department and Gwinnett County Police Department in the area of Atlanta Highway in reference to complainant reporting two unknown males robbed a business at gunpoint around 9:00 pm.

Zone 3

Burglary Attempt- Deputies responded to a church in the area of North Highway 83 in reference to a complaint of two juveniles attempting to make forced entry into the church around 3:30 pm. Juveniles fled the scene when they were approached by a church member. Deputies made contact with both juveniles and they were issued Criminal Trespass warnings.

Zone 5

Arrest­­- Charles Dial was arrested in the area of Ozora Church Road and Highway 81 for Possession of Methamphetamine and No Proof of Insurance following a traffic stop.

Theft- Deputies took a report at a residence on Richmond Place Way in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual took items from the complainant’s residence sometime between 12:00 am and 6:00 pm May 5th.

Zone 7

Trespassing- Deputies responded to the pond in the area of Lakeview Drive in reference to a complaint of two unknown individuals fishing at the lake without permission around 3:00 pm. Deputies made contact with the individuals and they were issued criminal trespass warnings.
