WCSO Alerts: Stolen vehicle recovered, entering auto and affray

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for the period Monday, April 20 to Wednesday, April 22, 2020. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Monday, April 20, 2020

ZONE 3

Suspicious Vehicle- Deputies responded to the area of Evergreen Drive in reference to a complaint of unknown individuals riding ATVs recklessly in the area around 5:30 pm. Deputies thoroughly checked the area but had no contact with anyone.

ZONE 5

Entering Auto- Deputies took a report at a residence on White Columns Drive in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual entered two of the complainant’s unlocked vehicles and took items from the vehicles sometime overnight.

ZONE 7

Burglary- Deputies took a report at a residence on New Horizon Drive in reference to complainant reporting someone entered the residence sometime between the hours 4:30 pm and 7:00 pm. As of now, nothing was reportedly taken.

Arrest- Michael Brekke (25, Loganville) was arrested in the area of Youth Jersey Road for Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Methamphetamine, and an outstanding warrant out of Loganville Police Department following a felony traffic stop where he was driving a vehicle that was reported stolen. Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and took Michael and the vehicle into custody.

Tuesday, April 21, 2020

ZONE 2

Citation- One individual was cited at a residence on Wildwood Way for Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Trespass following a dispute.

Wednesday, April 22, 2020

ZONE 3

Theft- Deputies took a report a residence on Highway 11 in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual stole several packages from the complainant’s residence sometime after 6:00 pm April 18th.

ZONE 4

Citation- One individual was cited at a residence on Gratis Road for Criminal Trespass following a dispute.

Damage to Property- Deputies took a report at a residence on Michael Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual caused damage to at building on location sometime between April 15th and April 22nd.

ZONE 5

Arrest- Barshawn Potter (35, Loganville) and Kevin Benitez-Morales (28, Loganville) were arrested at a residence on Bay Creek Road following a dispute.

– Barshawn Potter was arrested for Affray, Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce, Pointing a Weapon at Another, and Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon.

– Kevin Benitez-Morales was arrested for Affray.
