The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for the period Friday, May 4, 2018 to Sunday, May 6, 2018. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Arrest- Mark Dacosta was arrested at a residence on Mckinsey Ridge for outstanding warrants out of Dekalb County for Aggravated Assault, Impersonating and Officer, and Tampering with Evidence.
Saturday, May 5, 2018
Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Walton Road near the Monroe City Limits. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No arrest in reference to this Safety Check.
Arrest in Reference to this Safety Check:
- Millie Barr was arrested for Driving While License Suspended.
Arrest- Joshua Jegede was arrested in the area of Highway 138 near the Newton County Line for Speeding and Driving While License Suspended following a traffic stop.
Arrest- Mychal Carr was arrested in the area of Highway 138 and Guthrie Cemetery Road for Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce.
Theft- Deputies took a report at Criswell Park in the area of Criswell Road in reference to an unknown individual taking complainant’s purse sometime between 10AM-1PM.
Agency Assist- Deputies assisted Monroe Police Department with attempting to locate a vehicle and suspect that was involved in a crime in their jurisdiction.
Entering Auto- Deputies took a report at Southern Gymnastics in the area of Highway 78 in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual made forced entry in their vehicle and took several items. Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division are investigating the incident.
Arrest- Johnny Crowe was arrested in Barrow County for an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County following a traffic stop in their jurisdiction. Barrow County Deputies transported him to the county line where he was turned over to Walton County Sheriff’s Deputies.
Entering Auto- Deputies took a report at a residence on Greenridge Drive in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual entered their vehicle and took several items sometime between 6PM Friday, May 4th and 7:45PM Saturday, May 5th.
Suspicious Vehicle- Deputies responded to the area of Justin Drive in reference to an unknown motorist in a silver passenger vehicle approaching complainant’s child around 9PM. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact with the vehicle.

Arrest- Garrison Gandy was arrested in the area of Walnut Avenue and Leone Avenue for an outstanding warrant out of Newton County following a traffic stop.
Arrest- Reginald Hurt Jr. was arrested in the area of Snows Mill Road and Jacks Creek Road for Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Operating an Unsafe Vehicle following a traffic stop.
Agency Assist- Deputies assisted Monroe Police Department with the locating and arresting of Aaron Kent for Improper Backing, Driving With Suspended Registration, Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Damages, Driving Under the Influence, and Open Container following a accident that occurred at Churches Chicken.
