WCSO Alerts: Thefts, aggravated assault and fishing on property without permission

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for the period Monday – Tuesday, March 16 – 17, 2020. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Monday, March 16, 2020

ZONE 5

Theft- Deputies took a report at a residence on Bay Creek Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual took numerous items from the residence sometime between 5:20 pm February 15th and 3:00 pm March 16th. Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division investigating the incident.

Tuesday, March 17, 2020

ZONE 1

Arrest- Daryl Tanner (35, Oxford) was arrested at a residence on Old Highway 138 for Aggravated Assault, Point a Weapon at Another, and Reckless Conduct following a dispute.

Theft- Deputies took a report in the area of Main Street in reference to complainant/business reporting an unknown individual took several traffic barrels from the site sometime in the night time hours between March 16th and March 17th.

Citation- One individual was cited in the area of Liberty Hill Church Road for Criminal Trespass following being found on location fishing without permission.

ZONE 6

Theft- Deputies took a report at a business on Highway 81 in reference to an unknown individual taking several items from the business sometime overnight. Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division investigating the incident.

Damage to Property- Deputies took a report at a residence on Atkinson Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown motorist struck the complainant’s mailbox causing damage sometime throughout the day time hours.

ZONE 7

Arrest- Frederick Thompson (54, Monroe) was arrested at a residence on H D Atha Road for Aggravated Assault and two counts of Cruelty to Children in 3rdDegree following a dispute.
