WCSO announces dates for 2020 public use of the shooting range

Walton County Sheriff’s Office has announced the dates in 2020 that the shooting range in Monroe will be open to residents. The range, located behind the Walton County Law Enforcement Complex at 1425 S. Madison St. in Monroe was opened up to residents in 2011 to provide a place for local gun owners who don’t don’t have anywhere else that they can safely practice the use of firearms without significant cost.

There are two dates each month, one for rifles and another for pistols and shotguns. There are also four firearm classes offered during the course of the year, on Feb. 8, May 16, Sept. 5 and Nov. 7.
