Weather Alert: Code Orange Air Quality in effect for local area Monday, July 29

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Division, has issued a Code Orange Air Quality Alert for Monday, July 29, 2019 for the Atlanta area, including Walton, Gwinnett and surrounding counties. Under Code Orange, the air is deemed unhealthy for sensitive groups – some people, including children. People who are sensitive to ozone, including those with heart or lung disease, are urged to limited prolonged outdoor exertion during late afternoon or early evening when ozone concentrations are the highest. Ozone for the local area is listed at 68 – moderate risk levels.
