Weather Alert: High Fire Danger in the local area again on March 9

The National Weather Service has again issued a Special Weather Statement until 7 p.m. today, March 9, 2021, for several areas in Georgia, including Walton County. This is a warning for high fire danger for four hours or more this afternoon due to low humidities of 25 % or less.

According to the NWS, “winds will be southwest to southeast, generally 6 MPH or less. With dry fuels, high fire danger conditions can be expected. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities concerning whether you may burn outdoors. If you do burn outside, use extreme caution.”
