The National Weather Service has again issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for many counties in the local area, including Walton, Gwinnett and surrounding counties. Monroe, Covington, Lawrenceville, Winder and Watkinsville were specifically mentioned. The Watch is said to remain in effect until 11 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024.
According to the current radar, (click here for a link) Walton County does not appear to be in the thick of it, at least until 10 p.m., but stay tuned just in case something changes.
