This National Weather Service in Peachtree City is warning that while isolated storms are possible this evening, the hot, hot, hot weather is likely the rest of the week. The hazardous weather alert is for portions of north and central Georgia, including Walton, Gwinnett and surrounding counties.
The storms are not expected to be severe but could become strong and produce gusty winds, occasional lightning and locally heavy rain. There is more of a chance for scattered storms Wednesday through Saturday, some possibly strong and even a chance of severe. Heat indices, however, are also a concern with heat indices possibly reaching an advisory level near 105 degrees Tuesday through Thursday.
