The Flood Warning initially issued for Walton and surrounding counties has expired and was canceled at 3 p.m. on Aug. 4, 2019.
The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Flood Warning for Oconee County in northeastern Georgia… north-central Morgan County in north-central Georgia… Clarke County in northeastern Georgia… northeastern Walton County in north-central Georgia… southwestern Oglethorpe County in northeastern Georgia until 3 p.m. today, Sunday, Aug. 4, 2019.
According to the alert, at 1058 AM EDT, doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms with heavy rain have moved over the area and is expecting to cause flooding. Two to 3 inches of rain have fallen in the past 2 hours.
The affected areas are Morgan, Walton, Oconee, Oglethorpe and Clarke counties.
