Congratulations to our winners in our Fiber Show! Awards were presented last Thursday at our reception to honor all the artists and their fabulous works. Our judge was Atlanta artist Anne Rowles, who was emphatic that this was a tough show to judge with so many great pieces! Thank you all.

Best in Show: In Memory of my Father, photo transfer pieces quoted, artist’s original poem. Maxine Hess. Not for sale

First place: Ms. Peacock, sewing and millenary by Maggie Wilbanks. Not for sale.

Second place: Favorite Blue Weaving, Ikat weaving by Myrna McCoy Composto. Available for purchase $460.

Honorable mentions:
A Bowl Full of Happiness, coiled and sewn basket by Gloria Berry. Sold.

Oil Spill, woven wire, glass, asphalt and aluminum by Sara Schindler. Available for purchase $1200.

Director’s choice: Full Moon, handmade paper and box by Shannon Willow. Available for purchase $895.

Congratulations to all the artists who made it into this juried show! We will do this again next year!

A two-hour painting session with artist Sarah Smith that teaches acrylic painting basics. You will leave with a completed painting. Examples shown above. No previous experience required. Ages 16 to adult. Feel free to bring a snack!

Fee: $25 for members; $30 for non-members plus $7 supply fee.
