Weekly update from Monroe Walton Center for the Arts

A new show opened last Thursday: our Founders’ Show features 75 works from the masterful artists who founded the Art Guild 25 years ago.  You will find your own moments of beauty and calm as you just stand and absorb these lovely works.  I’ve actually seen this happen with our visitors.  It’s so affirming of all we’re trying to accomplish here.
Thursday, May 10 at 6 – 8 pm, you can meet many of these amazing artists.  Join us as we honor their talent, and also their vision, hard work and tenacity as they renovated the old post office and transformed it into a lovely venue for the arts.
This show also features a short video with interviews of many of the founders as they discuss the founding of Walton County’s premier arts institution.

We stand indeed, on the shoulders of giants, as we continue the work they began a quarter of a century ago.
