Acrylic Painting Class:  Snow covered forest tree at night.
Friday, November 30 from 6 – 8 pm
REGISTER HERE

A two-hour painting session with artist Sarah Smith that teaches acrylic painting basics. You will leave with a completed painting. Example shown on-line. No previous experience required. Ages 16 to adult. Feel free to bring a snack!  Fee: $25 for members; $30 for non-members plus please pay Sarah $7 supply fee (cash preferred) at the time of class.

HYPERTUFA Workshop:
Saturday, Dec 1 from 1:00 – 3:00.

Taught by sculptor, Jim Rowland. Hypertufa is a lighter-weight concrete composed of Portland cement, peat moss and vermiculite.  Hypertufa creations have a rustic, natural look and are particularly well-suited for planting succulents.  In this class, Jim will demonstrate tips for working with this fabulous material and students will make a small hypertufa planter.  Fee:  $40 for members; $45 for non-members – includes all materials.  Wear clothes that can get messy!

Hand-Stamped Tea Towels:
Three dates to choose from:
Tues 12/4 @ 1-3;
Fri 12/14 @ 5-7;
Sat 12/15 @ 11-1.

Play with your food! Explore the beautiful shapes of nature while creating unique tea towels.  Maria Ramos will teach design pattern basics and color combining as you learn how to turn common fruits and vegetables into stamps. Ages 14 and older. Ages under 14 are welcome to join with an adult at no additional cost.  $20 members / $25 non-members.  $10 supply fee includes 2 tea towels and all other supplies; extra towels available for $3.

Treat yourself to a new skill this Holiday season. We will learn to easily temper for glossy, crisp results. Maria Ramos will share her original recipes for fruit creme and nut butter centers. You will carry home a pound of beautiful fresh bon-bons in a gift box.  Special pricing for 2 people, make it a date night or girls get together. Ages 14+. $20 members / $25 non-members.  $22 supply fee includes 1 lb. of chocolate plus other ingredients/supplies(2 people are welcome to share the supplies!)

CLAY ANGEL WORKSHOP:
Saturday, Dec 8 @ 10:30 – noon.

Instructor: Rebecca Braswell.  Create your own clay angel to give (or keep!). Perfect for your mantle or tabletop. The angel shown is approximately 10″ tall. Angels can be antiqued or glazed with creamy white. Fee: $40 for members; $45 for non-members. All supplies included. You must pre-register with the instructor, email Rebecca @ braswellcr@bellsouth.net at least 24 hours in advance. Class limit: 8.

Our Gifts from the HeART Gallery of Gifts is open this week for our regular holiday hours with the exception of Thanksgiving Day when we will be closed.

Friday & Saturday from 10 am – 5 pm

Clay angels like the one shown above are available in our shop.  Each one is just $15 and 100% goes to support our ART MD healing art kits.  Buy one angel and you help provide the contents (art journal, stuffed animal, crayons, stickers and Play Doh all in a custom re-usable box) for TWO Art MD kits.  These are distributed to agencies that serve children in times of trauma, sickness or loss.
