WGHS senior Natavia Durham earns 54 college acceptances and more than $1 million in scholarship offers

Natavia Durham, Walnut Grove High School senior and 2019 Prom Queen, had her pick of colleges to consider. A grand total of 54 colleges, including Mercer University, Spellman, Georgia State and many more were happy to offer Natavia scholarships for a grand total already of almost $1.7 million,  but she has settled on Kennesaw State, according to her mother, Cal Durham.

“She will major in Biology in the Pre-med track program. She has been accepted into the Honors College and Advanced Majors Program at KSU,” said Cal Durham. Natavia will graduate from WGHS with honors on Saturday. “During the course of Natavia’s tenure at Walnut Grove High School, she has completed 2 CTAE Pathways in which she will receive graduation cords for completing both pathways TAP (Teaching as a Profession) and Health science-Patient Care. Through the TAP CTAE Program, she also completed a year internship at Atha Road Elementary.”

Natavia’s accomplishments were not just in the classroom though, she also excelled on the basketball court where she was a member of the WGHS Girls Varsity Basketball Team. In 2019, she earned the WGHS Girls Varsity Basketball MVP Award, the WGHS Girls Varsity Basketball All-Region Team and the WGHS Girls Varsity Basketball County Team.

Natavia’s proud parents are Pastor Nathan Durham and Cal Durham, of Loganville.
