WGHS Technology Student Association to host VEX Robotics Tournament

This weekend, students with an interest in VEX Robotics from all over Georgia will be descending on Walton Grove High School for a VEX Robotics tournament and the community is invited to stop by and see what it is all about.
“On Saturday, Jan. 20th, we will be hosting a VEX Robotics tournament. We have 32 teams of high school students from all over Georgia coming to compete. The top teams will qualify for the state tournament that will be in Athens in March,” said WGHS student Hannah Brown, who is vice president of the Technology Student Association at the school. “We are a fairly new chapter and this is the first time we’ve hosted a tournament at our school. One of our goals for this year is to increase awareness of our program.”
Hannah said the event is open to the public and anyone from the community who might be interested is invited to attend. It will be from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
“It would be a great opportunity for people to stop by and see what kind of STEM opportunities there are at our high schools. WGHS and (Loganville High School) have three teams competing, so it will also be an opportunity to support our local chapters,” Hannah said.
WGHS is located at 4863 Guthrie Cemetery Road, Loganville. If you are interested in finding out more about WGHS TSA and Robotics, you can follow it on Facebook. The following are photographs of the program provided by WGHS TSA.
