At 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, 2016, Amici’s will be hosting a benefit concert for the employees who lost family members and have friends and family members still recovering from the tragic accident on New Year’s Day that cost the life of a 1-year-old and 4-year-old. The proceeds will benefit the McConnell and Rose families. Tyler Crews will be performing for the benefit with a special performance by Funky Bruester.

Initial story

Amici in Monroe is asking the Monroe community to help friends and family members of two of their employees who are dealing with a New Year’s Day tragedy. A wreck on Georgia 60 in Hall County Sunday afternoon resulted in the death of a 4-year-old and a 1-year-old with direct ties to Amici and the local community. According to an employee of Amici, the 1-year-old is the grandson of a employee and the 4-year-old is the daughter of another.

Three others in the vehicle suffered injuries, two of them critical. The Gainesville Times is reporting that John Wayne Gibbs III, 25, of Walton County and Sabrina McConnell, 25, of Hall County are the parents of the 1-year-old who died. Ashley Rose, 21, was the other passenger in the car and was reported to be the aunt of the 4-year-old. The Gainesville Times reported that Gibbs has been discharged but McConnell and Rose remain in Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Amici’s in Monroe is taking donations at the restaurant to help with medical and funeral expenses and is asking those who are not in a position to help to please pray for the family.

“If you are unable to donate anything towards this, please just send your love and prayers. They were immediate family members of our Amici Monroe employees. As such, they will be taking donations in the restaurant as well. Anything you can do is greatly appreciation; flowers, food, donations, etc. They are all currently at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA,” Amici wrote.
