Mary Elizabeth Cato, age 91 of Monroe, GA, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Albert Bryson Cato; son, Larry Cato; sister, Ruthell Terry; and brothers, James Johnson and Everett Johnson. She is survived by her daughter (Faye Crupi & Jim) of Cumming, GA; sons, (Stan Cato & Sharon) of Monroe, GA and (Kenneth Cato & Doris) of Lavonia, GA; sisters, Dorothy Grinberg and (Kathryn Young & Robert); brothers, (Frank Johnson & Marthaleen), Alvin Johnson, (Herbert Johnson & Kathy), and Jeryl Johnson; grandchildren, (Jeff Cato & Maggie), Shannon Crupi, (Eric Cato & Jenie), Matthew Crupi, Sara Cato, and (Neal Cato & Katie); great-grandchildren, Alexis Cato, Julianne Cato, and Ian Crupi.
Mary was a member of Bold Springs United Methodist Church in Monroe, GA. She was a gardener, hairdresser, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother.
The Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Mary Elizabeth Cato was held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. Interment followed at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Tucker, GA. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Friday from 10:30 AM until 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
