MONROE, GA – (Feb. 27, 2026) City of Monroe Police Department reports that a 30-year-old Monroe man has been arrested and charged with the sexual exploitation of a minor for possession of sexually explicit material involving children.
According to a press release from MPD, this was the result of an Internet Crimes Against Children tip from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and two search warrants executed on Feb. 26 at residences on Towler Street and Heritage Ridge Drive.
“The ICAC tip alerted investigators to the possible possession of sexually explicit material involving juveniles. Monroe Police detectives immediately initiated a follow-up investigation, which led to the identification of a suspect and the subsequent execution of the search warrants,” MPD reported in the press release. “As a result of the investigation, 30-year-old Brandon Xavier Towwler was taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with Sexual Exploitation of a Minor for possession of sexually explicit material involving children.
“MPD works in close partnership with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and other state and federal agencies to aggressively investigate crimes involving the exploitation of children. Protecting the safety and well-being of our youth remains one of our highest priorities.”
MPD reports that this investigation remains ongoing and additional charges may be filed as evidence is analyzed.
