BETHLEHEM, GA – On Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. construction activities on the State Route 316 (SR) 316 interchange at SR 81 will close the shoulder between Carl Bethlehem Road and SR 81.
This work will be in the westbound shoulder on Thursday, and then on the eastbound shoulder Friday.
Closing the shoulder will allow the left turn lane eastbound to be extended. These extended turn lanes will lead traffic onto the temporary detour lanes which will be in effect later this month.
The interchange at SR 316 at SR 81 was awarded to CMES Inc., in summer of 2017 and has a scheduled completion date of October 31, 2020. This project represents a construction investment of $26 million in Barrow County
