SNELLVILLE, Ga. — Gwinnett County Police have arrested four people following an investigation into two alleged unlicensed personal care homes serving elderly and disabled adults in Snellville.
Police said Special Victims Unit detectives, along with several county and state agencies, executed search warrants April 30 at homes on Pond Edge Road after receiving reports the facilities were operating without licenses.
Investigators found 14 residents living in the homes. One resident with dementia was transported to a hospital for evaluation. Authorities also reported discovering expired food, drinks and medications, while code enforcement and fire officials inspected the properties. The Georgia Department of Community Health later issued cease-and-desist orders for both homes.
According to police, Adult Protective Services alerted detectives May 1 that someone had contacted residents in an attempt to move them back into the homes.
Ishaq Mumin, Khadijaah Mumin, Parys Johnson and Ziare Saymone Anderson Kearney were each charged with two counts of operating an unlicensed personal care home. All four were arrested May 5 and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail.
