GAINESVILLE, GA. Included in 26 recently awarded Georgia Department of Transportation road maintenance projects totaling more than $74 million are three in northeast Georgia that Georgia DOT says are devoted to enhancing safety on state routes in northeast Georgia. These include a cable barrier in Green, Morgan and a small portion of Walton County along State Route 402 and I-20.
At a cost of $4.5 million, this project has a completion date of Nov. 30, 2018. It has been awarded to Massana Construction of Tyrone, Ga. Georgia DOT reports that future construction meetings will be held prior to any dirt moving on this project, at which time start dates and necessary lane closure information will be shared via press releases and social media posts on Facebook and Twitter.
