From Dec. 26, 2017 to Jan. 15, 2018, Gwinnett County residents are invited to drop off Christmas trees to be recycled at various locations around the county. Please click or tap here for a list of locations in Gwinnett.
You are also invited to be one of the many community volunteers who will help chip trees into mulch at what is dubbed “the largest Christmas tree recycling event in Georgia.” Gwinnett County officials note that recycling your Christmas tree keeps trees out of landfills, saving landfill space and providing an easy and environmentally conscious solution for residents by recycling the trees into mulch.
The recycling event takes place from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at Bethesda Park, 225 Bethesda Church Road in Lawrenceville (near the soccer fields). If you are a volunteer you are required to wear work gloves, long pants and thick-soled, closed toes shoes. Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful also recommends “weather-appropriate, comfortable clothing that the volunteer won’t mind getting dirty.”
If you are part of a group or organization, share this fun event with them and bring a team of volunteers!
