The Gwinnett County Police Department has terminated Officer Myles Green following an internal investigation into a serious injury crash that occurred while he was responding to an emergency call on June 5.
According to a press release from the department, the investigation found Green entered an intersection against a traffic signal without first coming to a complete stop and ensuring the intersection was clear, violating department policy and training. His employment was terminated on June 22.
Following the crash, the department requested that the Georgia State Patrol take over the crash investigation. State Patrol remains the lead agency and has obtained arrest warrants for Green in connection with the incident.
In a statement, Police Chief J.D. McClure said the department is committed to professionalism, integrity, accountability, and maintaining public trust by holding employees to high standards.
Green joined the Gwinnett County Police Department in April 2022, graduated from the department’s academy in November 2022, and began solo patrol duties in April 2023.
