WINDER, Ga.,-After 15 years the at grade railroad crossing at State Route 8/ US 29 and Ed Hogan road will open to traffic tomorrow, Aug. 10, 2017.
CMES, Inc. of Norcross, GA, completed the project which was awarded in July of 2016. Work began in September 2016 and was a locally funded project with Barrow county.
The intersection was reconstructed, a traffic signal was added, along with warning devices for the railroad crossing.
This project will allow connectivity between Ed Hogan and State Route 211 and ease congestion along State Route 8.
