If your commute is going to take you on Interstate 85 this weekend, you may want to know about lane closures due to the I-85 Express Lane extension project that could impact your trip. Georgia DOT warns of the following lane closures this weekend.

Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017

• I-85 SB from Lawrenceville-Suwanee Rd to Old Peachtree Rd (9:00 PM to 5:00 AM) (MP 111.4 to MP 110.6) shifting to a double lane closure at 11:00 PM; for sign removal; right lane
• I-85 NB from Old Peachtree Rd to McGinnis Ferry Rd (9:00 PM to 5:00 AM) (MP 109.4 to MP 111.4) shifting to a double lane closure at 11:00 PM; for sign removal; right lane
• Pacing Operations I-85 NB from Sugarloaf Pkwy to McGinnis Ferry Rd, including holding ramp traffic at Old Peachtree On-ramp (11:00 PM to 4:00 AM); all lanes
• Pacing Operations I-85/I-985 SB from SR 20 to McGinnis Ferry Rd, including holding traffic at Lawrenceville-Suwanee Rd On-ramp (11:00 PM to 4:00 AM); all lanes

Overhead sign removal Friday night on I-85 Southbound 

Suwanee, Ga.- On Friday, September, 15, 2017 the electronic sign overhead I-85 .19 miles south of McGinnis Ferry Road will be turned off in preparation to be taken down that night.

The following lane closures will occur overnight to accommodate sign removal.

• I-85 SB from Lawrenceville-Suwanee Rd to Old Peachtree Rd (9:00 PM to 5:00 AM) (MP 111.4 to MP 110.6) shifting to a double lane closure at 11:00 PM; for sign removal; right lane
