Local firefighters help provide fun for foster children

A group of local foster children and their host families were treated to a fun filled Water Day last week courtesy of some local firefighters.
“On Tuesday, we had our last Mother’s Morning Out of the summer.  Our “Water Day” was Tuesday, July 25th and the awesome firefighters from the B-shift of Station 12 and Station 2 came to help with our slip-and-slide,” said Sharon Studdard, administrator coordinator for Uniting Hope 4 Children, a faith-based non-profit foster care agency in Loganville. “The kids had a blast!  I just wanted to give them a shout-out for going above and beyond their firefighter duties by giving our foster loves and their siblings a fun day.”

Stuttered said Uniting Hope 4 Children holds Mother’s Morning Out events twice per month during the summer and once per month during the school year for local foster moms.
“We provide activities and lunch for the foster and biological children so the moms can have some time to run errands, go to lunch with friends, or do whatever they need to do for a few hours,” she said, adding “Once we had a mom take a much-needed nap in her car in the parking lot during our MMO!”
