Families across Walton County and the surrounding area are invited to kick off Walton County’s America 250 Anniversary celebration Saturday, June 27, when the City of Loganville hosts its annual special Independence Day celebration at West Walton Park.
The free community event runs from 6 to 10 p.m. on the football fields adjacent to the Loganville Police Department and promises an evening filled with family fun, food, live entertainment, and a spectacular fireworks display to end the evening and kick off the week-long Walton County celebrations that continue in the lead up to July 4th.
Activities begin at 6 p.m. with a Kid Zone, food vendors, and music from a DJ, giving attendees plenty of time to settle in before the evening’s featured entertainment takes the stage at 7:30 p.m.
Providing the soundtrack for the celebration will be Bad Medicine, one of the Southeast’s premier Bon Jovi tribute bands. Known for recreating the look, sound, and energy of the legendary rock group, Bad Medicine performs fan favorites such as “Livin’ on a Prayer,” “Wanted Dead or Alive,” “You Give Love a Bad Name,” and, of course, “Bad Medicine.” The band has built a strong following throughout the region for its high-energy shows and crowd interaction, making it a fitting headliner for one of Loganville’s biggest summer events.
As darkness falls, attendees can look forward to the evening’s grand finale—a fireworks show scheduled to begin at dark, typically between 9:30 and 10 p.m.
Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the concert and fireworks comfortably from the field. Parking will be available at the Meridian Community Center and First Baptist Church of Loganville, with shuttle service provided to the event site.
The Independence Celebration has become a longstanding Loganville tradition, drawing residents together each summer to celebrate America’s birthday with music, food, and patriotic spirit.
West Walton Park is located at 925 Twin Lakes Road in Loganville. Admission is free.
