Resident of The Retreat at Loganville built ships for U.S. Navy during the war years

Jane Tucker was honored last week as one of the ‘Best of the Nest,’ 10 residents from Phoenix Senior Living communities across the nation chosen for their remarkable stories. Tucker, who currently resides at The Retreat at Loganville, was selected for her continued work in spreading her story of her wartime service as one of the ‘Rosie the Riveter’ ladies who helped build America’s arsenal during World War II.

Tucker built ships for the U.S. Navy in Savannah during the war years. She was presented with a token of esteem by Loganville Mayor Branden Whitfield as Loganville’s heart mascot looks on. Tucker presented the iconic Rosie the Riveter pose during the ceremony.
