Monroe PD Reports: Snake on sidewalk, several separate suicide attempts and slew of petty complaints

The following are the incidents reported by the Monroe Police Department between April 14 – 20, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Domestic Dispute, Magnolia Terrace, male subject has been drinking and was asked to leave by complainant. Both parties said he doesn’t live on location. Male subject wanted to take the transmission out of her car.
  • Refusal to Leave, West Marable Street in reference to male subject on location refusing to leave. Situation mediated and homeowner will allow subject to spend the day, but must be gone at 0800 hours.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Russell Dr., Hammond Park. Caller advised a vehicle has been on location for a while. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Prowler, Thomason Ridge Court. Homeowner advised she heard a loud noise in Garage. Location checked and it was found the garage spring broke, causing the loud noise. All ok.
  • Warrant Service, Creek View Dr., in reference to male subject. Location checked, garage door open and TV on inside, but no answer at the doors.
  • Warrant Service, South Broad St., Southside Mobile Home Park in reference to Karissa Zeller with a Monroe Probation warrant. Location checked with negative contact. Subject is known to hang out with named male subject, who carries a handgun. Zeller located and arrested
  • Dispute, West Spring St., Haven Inn. Caller advised subject in room. Keeps coming to desk bothering her. Contact made with female who advised she was sick and requested transportation to the hospital.
  • Welfare Check, Hannah Lane in reference to female subject texting friend she didn’t want to live anymore. Contact made with female who had visible marks on both wrists where she attempted cutting herself due to bulling at her school (Walnut Grove H.S.). Officer transported female to Clearview Hospital for an evaluation.
  • Domestic Dispute, West 5th St., husband and wife disputing. Husband advised wife slashed his truck tires and Wife stated husband doesn’t contribute to the house and needs to move out. Situation mediated.
  • Suspicious Person, South Broad St., Hardees in reference to female subject on location advising police were hiding in the bushes. Subject was also digging in dirt next to building, underneath the structure.
  • Warrant Service at Clearview Regional Medical Center. Female subject in room with active probation warrant out of Walton County. Subject at ER for breathing treatment. Advised to call back before she’s released.
  • Warrant Service, South Broad St., Jason Gray on location with an active probation warrant for burglary out of Hall County. Subject located in woods and arrested.
  • Warrant Service at Clearview Regional Medical Center. Daphnia Benton getting ready for discharge from hospital. WCSO was advised and a deputy responded to arrest the subject.
  • Damage to property, N. Broad St. (Deer Acres) in regards to manager wanting report on damaged TV in room. Report taken.
  • Suicide attempt, E. Marable St. (Marable Manor) in regards to female subject barricaded in bathroom with phone cord around her neck. Forced entry made and subject was extracted and cord removed. EMS transported to Athens.
  • Domestic violence, Fairgrounds on E. Church St. in regards to (Carnival workers) male and female subjects involved in altercation this date and female left to go back to Kentucky. All ok.
  • Damage to property, Breedlove Dr. (Old physician’s center) in regards to broken window on back side of building. Monroe Utilities doing power line work and discovered. Damage logged w/ dispatch. No owner information available.
  • Drug paraphernalia, Stowers Dr. (Gov. Housing) in regards to Housing Maintenance repainting residence and found small amount of smoked marijuana and “crack pipe”. Paraphernalia disposed of and report taken.
  • Suicide attempt, E. Fambrough St., in regards to female subject taking entire pill bottle full of meds. Female admitted to not wanting to live and transported by EMS to Clearview.
  • Suspicious person, Alcovy St., in regards to W/M that does not have valid license and drove himself to probation. Contact made w/ male subject and advised to not drive.
  • Theft, Gliding Ln., complainant stated her and ex-girlfriend were disputing over relationship and ex-girlfriend gathered her belongings out of complainant’s vehicle and also took complainant’s car keys then left scene. Complainant does not want to press charges, only get keys back. Gwinnett county contacted to check residence in Norcross.
  • Fraud report taken at MPD lobby. Complainant advised someone used her bank info to buy season passes at Six Flags. Complainant advised to contact authorities in that jurisdiction.
  • Arrest, Alcovy St., Matthew Bynum arrested for Probation Violation
  • Burglary, Tanglewood Dr., complainant reported cash, shoes, gift cards, and a 40” Sony flat screen TV stolen from residence. Entry made through back window and subjects appeared to be wearing gloves due to no visible prints. Report taken.
  • Damage to property, E. Church St. in regards to damaged mailbox. City of Monroe truck struck mailbox and left scene. Turned over to GSP.
  • Harassment, Wheelhouse Ln., complainant advised she was being harassed and stalked because another neighbor says “hello” and asks her where she’s going for walks. Advised that this is not harassment, all ok.
  • Suspicious person, Thompson Ridge Dr. in regards to subject knocking on door. Complainant advised subject has been told to stay away. Complainant requested extra patrol.
  • Suspicious Person on Lawrence St., female subject in the area not breaking any laws. Subject walking to the park.
  • Damage to Property, East Washington St., in reference female subject accidentally breaking another’s female’s cell phone. Advised of remedies.
  • Animal Complaint, Douglas St., Loose dog in the area. Owner was able to get dog back inside the house.
  • Suspicious Person in the area of South Broad St. in reference to an unknown male panhandling. Area checked with negative contact
  • Suspicious Vehicle in the area of North Jackson St. in reference to a White Jeep Cherokee speeding in the area. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Domestic Violence, Tanglewood Dr., complainant was assaulted by her boyfriend. Boyfriend fled the scene prior to police arrival. Warrant for Battery – Family Violence will be taken for his arrest.
  • Animal Complaint, East Washing St., Caller advised a snake was on her sidewalk. Area of residence was checked with negative contact with the snake.
  • Dispute, North Broad St., Golden Pantry in reference to two females disputing over $20. One female denied taking the bill. Both parties denied report and went their separate ways.
