The Monroe Walton Center for the Arts will host Fabric Sunrise: The Art of Kinusaiga from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, with instructor Robbin Moore.
The beginner-friendly workshop will introduce participants ages 16 and older to Kinusaiga, a Japanese art form that uses small pieces of fabric to create a quilt-like picture without sewing. Participants will follow a step-by-step process to create a colorful sunrise design, choosing fabrics and colors to personalize their finished artwork.
All project supplies will be provided. Participants may bring their own fabric scraps or scissors if desired. No prior artistic or crafting experience is necessary.
The class is limited to 10 participants. Cost is $30 for MWCA members and $35 for nonmembers.
For cancellation, a 95% refund is available with at least three days’ notice. Tickets and late cancellations are nonrefundable unless MWCA cancels the event.
