MPD Reports: DUI arrests; juveniles misbehaving; slew of domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 1 – 7, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Loud Music – Alcovy St – Complainant stated loud music in the area. Area check completed but no violation observed.
• Loud Music – E Norris St – Subjects at a block party in Young Pines advised to keep music down.
• Suspicious Vehicle – S Madison Ave; Felker Park – In reference to a subject sitting in her vehicle in the park after dark. She was advised of loitering laws and sent on her way
• Alarm – Great Oaks Dr – In reference to a front motion detector. All okay on location.
• Hit and Run/DUI Arrest – Chestnut Ln – In reference to a named subject backing into a mailbox while leaving the chestnut cupboard and leaving the scene. Upon officers arrival it was discovered he was heavily intoxicated. He was determined to be less safe to operate a motor vehicle and was arrested for DUI Less safe and Hit and run. He was turned over to staff at the Walton County Jail without incident
• Traffic Stop/Dui Arrest – E Spring St; BP – In reference to stopping a Honda Accord for multiple lane violations. Subject was found to be driving under the influence and determined to be Less safe to operate a motor vehicle. She was arrested for DUI and Failure to maintain Lane and turned over to staff at the Walton County Jail without incident.
• Loitering – E Church St; Chestnut Cupboard – Large gathering in the parking lot. The crowd was dispersed.
• Vehicle Unlock – E Spring St; BP – Vehicle unlocked no damage.
• Dispute – Ridge Rd – In reference to complainant calling due to subject assaulting her, subject was gone when officers arrived. Warrants taken for FV Battery.
• Dispute – E Church St; Chestnut Cupboard – Complainant stated dispute in the parking lot. Units arrived however the involved parties were gone when officers arrived.
• Alarm – W Spring St – Beautyville – Audible alarm heard by officer. Business was checked and all doors and windows appeared secured.
• Roadway Blockage – 78W exit ramp & Charlotte Rowe- sign in the roadway-sign ran over by possibly semi-truck- not in the road.
• Signal 37 – Davis St – In reference to a verbal dispute between two subjects. All OK on location.
• Welfare Check – Stewart Ct- Reference to a juvenile walking by himself in a diaper, with an adult yelling at the juvenile. Adult was juveniles mother, child was ok
• Vehicle Unlock – W Spring St; Walmart – Vehicle unlocked with no damage.
• Dispute – Davis St – In reference to subject getting his belongings from the residence. Subject was able to get his things and leave. Subject is out on bond for FV charges with conditions of no contact with Nayoka. He was advised that if he returns he will go to jail.
• Vehicle Crash – W Spring & MLK Blvd: Two vehicle crash with no injuries. Report in GEARS.
• Follow Up – South Broad Street – Officer observed named male subject who had an active warrant from a case. He was taken into custody.
• Dispute – Ridge Rd – In reference to a verbal/physical domestic. Named subject was taken into custody for FV Battery after investigation and transported to the Walton County Jail.
• Dispute – East Spring Street – In reference to a named subject refusing to check out. He was informed he needed to check out and leave at this time. All ok.
• Suspicious Person – Pavilion Pkwy & Pavilion Pl – In reference to subject walking in the roadway back to Quality Inn. All okay.
• Dispute – E Sprint St – In reference to named male on location still after being advised by law enforcement to leave. He was arrested for Criminal Trespass and taken to the Walton County Jail.
• Other Law – W Spring St- In reference to the complainant deposited 150 dollars into the ATM. Complainant advised the ATM would not complete the transaction or cancel the transaction. Complainants’ money and card was in the ATM. report taken via phone advised to contact the bank tomorrow
• Dispute – Felker Park – In reference to juveniles being rude at the playground. Juveniles were gone when officers arrived.
• Crash Detection – W Spring St-Area checked, no contact.
• Welfare Check – Breedlove Dr- Reference not being able to speak with her sister who is a patient. Contact was made with patient who advised she was fine.
• Dispute – Pavillion Parkway – In reference to a verbal dispute between manager complainant and employee subject. Subject was issued a criminal trespass.
• Juvenile issue – W Creek Cr – In reference to comments and issues between juveniles. Issues
• were resolved after speaking with both parties. All okay.
• Disabled Vehicle – Hammond Dr at Church St – Assisted with working traffic while tire was changed.
• Suspicious person – W Spring & IHOP-Same subject from previous call. Subject was advised to stay out of the roadway.
• Juvenile Complaint – Atha St – In reference to a subject reporting that her grandson was being disobedient and cursing. Upon further investigation it was discovered that she does not have custody of the juvenile and the juvenile resides with his father and was with his father when this incident occurred. Contact was made with the father who advised the subject began yelling at the juvenile because he was outside with his father’s permission. Parties advised of remedies
• Area Check – Downtown on Foot – All ok.
• Alarm – Plaza Dr – DaVita Dialysis – Business checked on foot; all ok.
• Suspicious Vehicle – S. Lumpkin St / Davis St – Vehicle parked behind closed business with 4 shirtless males. All ok sent on their way.
• Fraud – W. Spring St – Complainant advised her credit card was compromised. Report taken.
• Loud Music – Tanglewood Dr / Tanglewood Ln – Music was requested to be turned down which resident complied.
• 911 Hang-Up – Wheel House Ln – In reference to a 911 hang-up with screaming on the other end of the line which ended up being a medical emergency. Turned over to EMS
• Dispute – Davis St – In reference to a possible dispute at this location. Upon officer arrival the complaint advised he no longer needed police assistance and became uncooperative.
• Suspicious Persons – S Broad Secure storage – In reference to 6 possible subjects on location. Area checked with negative contact with anyone.
• Suspicious Person – Alcovy St – In reference to the complainant being concerned that a subject was in the area. Contact was made with subject on Alcovy Street. He was advised of loitering laws and reminded of this trespass warning from Alcovy St. He was sent on his way.
• Suspicious Vehicle – New Lacy St -Negative contact with any person or vehicle.
• Dispute – Towler St – In reference to a verbal dispute between boyfriend and girlfriend. No act of family violence occurred and both parties agreed to separate for the night
• Agency Assist – Hwy 78 WB / Aycock Ave – In reference to assisting the Sheriff’s office with a DUI investigation.
• Suspicious Person – W Spring St; Piedmont Walton – In reference to a male subject in the area, possibly on drugs. Contact was made with subject, who advised he was in the area wanting to seek medical services. He was advised to proceed to the ER and check in.
