MPD Reports: During discharge, patient from Ridgeview arrested after attacking 2 staff members and damaging property in lobby

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 8 – 15, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Violent Mental Patient – Breedlove Drive / Ridgeview – In reference to a violent patient on location. The situation was mediated by staff.
• Residential Alarm – Westridge Ave – In reference to an activated alarm at the listed residence. Homeowners’ children were on location. All okay.
• Mental Patient Violent – Breedlove Dr / Ridgeview – In reference to subject, being discharged from the listed Institution, and in the process, battered two of the employees. He also destroyed numerous objects in the front lobby, though the manager of the establishment denied pursuing charges on the criminal damage. He was arrested for two counts of battery and transported to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office Jail without incident
• Suspicious Vehicle – W Spring St; Walmart – In reference to the complainant advising of a red Truck with two teens cursing at people in the parking lot. The vehicle left the area per the complainant. The area was checked and negative contact was made.
• Loud Music – E Church St – In reference to loud music complaint. The area was checked and negative contact was made.
• Other Law – W Spring St. Walmart – In reference to complainant getting his phone stuck in the recycling kiosk. The system was restarted, and complainant was able to complete his transaction.
• Suspicious Person – Martin Luther King Jr Blvd – In reference to a passerby notifying emergency services that a black male with an all-black outfit was walking back and forth in the roadway. Contact was made with the subject who had an active arrest warrant. He was arrested and transported to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office Jail without incident.
• Road Blocked – Charlotte Rowell and Pavilion Parkway – In reference to a crosswalk sign that was struck and obstructing the roadway. The sign was relocated out of the roadway and Department of Transportation was informed.
• Suspicious Vehicle – W Spring St. Roses Express – In reference to a suspicious vehicle parked in front of the entrance of the store. The occupants were conducting work on the concrete at the entrance.
• Loud Music – West Fambrough: In reference to a nearby resident reporting loud music coming from the listed area. Contact was made with the disturbance, and the party was advised to lower the volume.
• EMS Assist – Tanglewood Lane- In reference to subject having difficulty breathing and throwing up due to being heavily intoxicated. The scene was turned over to EMS.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – North Broad Street- Traffic stop conducted for an expired tag. While on the stop it was discovered that the front seat passenger had a warrant for his arrest out of Walton County. He was placed under arrest and turned over to the WCSO.
• Welfare Check – Davis St – In reference to the complainant advising she had not heard from her son for several hours and his location was pinging to this address. Contact was made with the residence who advised he left with a group of friends earlier and advised his mother the same information prior to Officers arrival.
• Wrong Way Driver – Highway 78 -In reference to a passerby notifying emergency services stating a vehicle was driving the wrong way on Highway 78 West Bound. The reported area and surrounding areas were thoroughly checked with negative contact.
• Child Custody – Magnolia Terrace. In reference to a civil issue over child custody. Report taken.
• Business Alarm – Pavilion Parkway; Piedmont Urgent Care – In reference to employee entry/exit motion. Employees on location, all is okay.
• Business Alarm – W Spring Street; Texaco – In reference to a front and back door alarm. Employees on location, all is okay.
• Warrant Attempt/Arrest – South Madison Avenue – In reference to serving a warrant on a female subject. She was arrested and transported to Walton County Jail without incident. Report taken.
• Juvenile Problem – East Church St. – In reference to juvenile who is autistic and refused to get inside of the car with his family to go to church. Juvenile was convinced to get inside of the car without issue.
• Warrant Attempt/Arrest – South Broad St – In reference to serving a warrant on a female subject. She was arrested and transported to Walton County Jail without incident. Report taken.
• Loud music – E Church St. No loud music was observed.
• Vehicle Lockout – Ash St – Vehicle opened, no damage.
• Civil Issue – West 5th St – In reference to a subject getting his belongings after a previous dispute. Situation mediated.
• Loud Music – Chestnut Lane – In reference to the complainant driving around the area attempting to locate the source of the loud music from previous call. The area was checked by officer, but there was negative contact.
• Alarm – Tigers Way – Call was cancelled by the alarm company prior to officer’s arrival.
• Entering Auto – S Broad Street – In reference to a possible entering auto. Call was canceled by the complainant due to missing items being located inside of the vehicle.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Poplar Ct. – In reference to two subjects loitering on location. Both parties were warned and sent on their way.
• Dispute – Gilding Lane – In reference to a verbal dispute over a misunderstanding. The complaint declined law enforcement assistance.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Tall Oaks – In reference to a Dodge Charger speeding in the area. The vehicle was located and contact was made with the driver. After investigation, the driver was given a verbal warning.
• Welfare Check – Stonecreek Way – In reference to subject requesting a welfare check on her mother due to her cell phone going straight to voicemail. All was determined to be ok and the mother was advised to contact her daughter.
• Suspicious Person – Baker Street, South Hammond- In reference to subject walking on the side of the roadway while leaning back and stumbling. He was given a ride down the street to the Monroe Motor Inn.
• Found Property – S Broad St – In reference to the complainant advising he found someone’s ID card. The ID was turned over to the Post Office.
• Motor Vehicle Accident – MLK Jr Blvd & Michael Etchison Rd – In reference to a two vehicle accident with no injuries. GEARS report completed.
• Juvenile Complaint – W Fambrough St – In reference to the complainant advising of a red and white dirt bike being driven by two juveniles were yelling at her and riding up and down the street. Negative contact was made with the dirt bike and remedies were advised.
• Reckless Driver – Hwy 78, Unisia- In reference to a gray in color Tesla Y driving recklessly and brake checking the complainant. Contact was made with the vehicle and no violations were observed. Complainant did not wish to meet.
• Domestic Dispute – Plaza Drive – In reference to three subjects involved in a family violence incident. One juvenile was identified as the predominant aggressor and charged with FV Simple Battery, FV Simple Assault x 2, and FV Criminal Trespass. He was transported to RYDC and turned over to the correctional officers without incident.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 78, Vehicle was in the county prior to contact.
• Domestic Dispute – Plaza Drive – Check on previous call.
• EMS Assist – East Spring Street, Monroe Motor Inn- In reference to subject falling in the parking lot and hitting his head. He was turned over to EMS and transported to Piedmont Walton.
• Business Alarm – Pavilion Pkwy. Old Navy – In reference to a business alarm. The alarm was caused by a delivery.
• Transport – West Spring Street / 423 South Madison Avenue – In reference to subject being transported from Piedmont Walton to South Madison Avenue.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 138 & Michael Etchison Rd – In reference to the complainant advising of a SUV failing to maintain lane. The area was checked and negative contact was made.
• Unsecured Vehicle – Colquitt St- In reference to a vehicle door being left wide open. Contact was made with the homeowners who advised that they generally leave their vehicle doors open. Everything okay, vehicle was not broken into.
• EMS Assist – Tanglewood Dr – In reference to complainant discovering her husband unresponsive, not breathing and cold to the touch. Husband was on hospice and hospice was dispatched.
• Unknown Law – GW Carver Drive – In reference to complainant notifying Emergency Services that subject was jumped at the listed residence. Negative contact was made at the residence, though the back door was unlocked, and the residence was cleared, again with negative contact with the alleged victim. Subject has an active warrant for his arrest, prompting him to flee before law enforcement arrives.
