MPD Reports: Fraud, entering auto, 9-year-old runaway and vehicle crashes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period June 5 – 11, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Suspicious Person – Springer Lane – In reference to subject having issues with an unknown male she allowed to stay at her residence. The male was gone when officers arrived. Remedies advised.
• Road Blockage – Hwy 78 @ N Broad St – In reference to a Semi Truck on the exit ramp blocking half the exit. Semi was removed.
• Welfare Check – GW Carver – Complainant had contact with subject prior to officer arrival. All OK.
• Welfare check – Breedlove Dr – Reference request for welfare check on a subject by hi girlfriend. The girlfriend stated subject called to advise her he was not receiving medication. A patient advocate was able to confirm that subject was receiving medication on a daily basis. The girlfriend was advised to have a release of information form filled out if needed.
• Loud Music – Maple St – Homeowner advised to keep music down.
• Missing Person – Pavilion Parkway Publix – In reference to subject from her caretaker. She was located and transported to the hospital without incident.
• Other Law – W 5th St – Reference complainant wanting to know insurance status on his vehicle. Tag was ran showing all valid.
• Traffic Accident – W Spring @ MLK Jr Blvd – Two-vehicle crash with no injuries. GEARS report.
• Alarm – Pavilion Pkwy – Staff on location. All ok.
• Mechanical Breakdown – N Broad St. & Hwy 78 – In reference to a Jeep Compass having engine issues. The vehicle was able to be moved out of the roadway.
• Accident – Davis Street/Page Street – Single vehicle accident with median. Gears report completed.
• 911 Hang-up – S Broad St. – In reference to what sounded like two juveniles playing on the phone. The area was checked with negative contact. All appeared okay in the area.
• EMS Assist – Fleeting way – Reference 81 year old male unconscious with shallow breathing. Upon arrival male had a pulse and was breathing Turned over to EMS.
• Other Law – E Spring St. – In reference to complainant requesting an Officer to check a subject for warrants before putting him on a bus. Subject volunteered his information and was found to have a Probation Violation warrant out of California (in-State pick-up only). All okay.
• Suspicious Vehicle – 78 W @ County Line: In reference to blue passenger car swerving. Area checked with negative contact.
• Civil Issue – Davis St. – In reference to a named subject attempting to retrieve belongings from another. He was able to retrieve one bag of belongings but stated that he had further property in a storage unit. He was advised of civil remedies.
• Dispute – Breedlove Dr: Ridgeview – In reference to two male patients arguing. All okay.
• Other Law – Breedlove Dr – Reference a patient not allowed phone privileges. On scene the complainant became argumentative towards staff and was asked to leave. Complainant left per request.
• Vehicle Unlock – S Broad St.; Marathon
• Vehicle Crash – Wal-Mart- In reference to a two vehicle, private property crash. GEARS report.
• Fraud – W.Spring St – Reference an unknown male attempting to make a wire transfer in the amount of $50,000. The manager advised the unknown male did not look like the account holder. A traffic stop was conducted on the suspect vehicle. The driver identified himself and presented identification upon request. Subject returned to the bank where it was discovered he was a victim of over the phone fraud by an unknown male pretending to be a representative of united bank. Subject was assisted by staff and told to freeze any other accounts he had active. Before departure Subject was advised to file a police report with Athens Clarke County Police reference fraud.
• Juvenile Complaint – South Broad Street – In reference to a 9-year-old female stating she was kicked out of her house. It was determined the juvenile was a runaway that WCSO was currently working. TOT WCSO.
• Accident – Hwy 78 at Charlotte Rowell – Single vehicle accident with no injuries. GEARs report completed.
• Damage to Property – Home Depot- In reference to the complainant reporting that someone damaged his tailgate by dropping a piece of lumber on it.
• Dispute – E Church St; Chevron – In reference to a male and female arguing the in parking lot. Both parties gone when officers arrived. all okay
• Damage to Property – Hwy 78 EB & E Spring St. – In reference to a piece of gravel out of a dump truck striking the complainant’s windshield. Report taken.
• Warrant/Arrest – Irving St – In reference to a named subjecton location with a valid warrant. The subject was taken into custody and transported to WCSO without incident.
• Entering Auto – Felker St. – In reference to an unknown subject stealing the complainant’s HP Omen laptop out of his work van between approximately 0700 and 1200 hours this date. Report taken.
• Dispute – In reference to a near traffic collision, no crash occurred. present to check for damages. No damage observed. Both parties wanted LE
• Vehicle Crash w/ Injuries – Hwy 138 @ LongHorn- Two vehicles, with driver 2 having a laceration to the ear, driver 2 was transported by EMS to Piedmont Walton. GEARS report.
• Accident/Hit and Run – W Spring at Bankers Blvd – Two vehicle accident. Possible hit and run investigation pending. GEARs report to be completed.
